FAQs
I offer personalised integrative counselling for adults.
This means I can apply various thereputic techniques to tailor our sessions to your specfic behavioual and emotional needs.
Absolutely! I offer a free 15 minute telephone conversation so you can ask me any questions about how it will work.
This will also give us the opportunity to get a feel if we are the right fit for each other.
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We will talk about what brought you to counselling, what you are hoping for and how I work. The first session will also be where we discuss contracts and confidentiality.
There is no pressure in this first session, as it’s a time for us to see how we will work together as well as an opportunity for you to ask any questions.
Yes, your sessions are confidential, although there are instances when I may need to break confidentiality, such as if I feel you may be a harm to yourself or others.
These situations are stipulated in the BACP (https://www.bacp.co.uk)Ethical guidelines and will be explained to you in our first session. If I do need to break confidentiality, I will aim to discuss this with you in the first instance.
Unfortunately, there is no one-size fits all answer to this question, as each person has their own individual needs and circumstances. Some people progress in a few sessions whilst others may benefit from longer term counselling.
Together, we will regularly review your progress and you will always be involved in decisions about your therapy.
Please contact for information.
I politely ask that your session is paid for before we convene.
Yes, you can cancel or rearrange an appointment 24 hours before our session.
I understand things come up, so please allow as much notice as possible as after this period payment may still be taken.
Yes, you are free to end counselling at any time when you feel you are ready.
I just ask that, where possible, we plan to end our sessions together, so they can be brought to a gentle close.
